In January 2016, during President Xi Jinping’s visit to Saudi Arabia, he and King Salman announced the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership, which effectively boosted the development of bilateral relations. Since then, a series of major achievements have been made in terms of economic and trade cooperation between the two nations. At the same time, Chinese enterprises have focused on their CRS performance in Saudi Arabia, greatly contributing to local economic and social development, as well as the improvement of local people’s well-being.
Operating under a model of joint contributions and shared benefits, Chinese enterprises take an active role in infrastructure construction, energy development, technical cooperation, and financial service provision in Saudi Arabia, thus boosting the industrial localization and economic transformation and development in the kingdom. Chinese enterprises have focused on local employment and procurement, which have resulted in a steady rise in the proportion of Saudi employees and local products and services. These companies insist on work safety and do their utmost to protect employees’ life, health, and safety. They value the promotion of a common prosperity that benefits local communities and play an active role in local programs for public good, with an aim to improve local people’s well-being. In recent years, Chinese enterprises have engaged in infrastructure improvement, industrial development, technological progress, education and medical service improvement in Saudi Arabia, and in improvements to people’s livelihoods in the country. Common progress and development have been made possible during the fast advancement of economic and trade cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia.
The in-depth connection between Saudi Vision and the Belt and Road Initiative provides new opportunities for extensive cooperation between the two nations in all possible fields. According to the consensus these nations share, in addition to plans jointly formulated by the leaders of both countries, Chinese enterprises in Saudi Arabia will engage in the implementation of Saudi Vision and the Belt and Road Initiative. They also will cooperate more closely on infrastructure construction, including railways, ports, power plants, and communication facilities, the development and utilization of traditional energies and new energies, the improvement of local manufacturing capacities, as well as education, healthcare, and financial support and services.They will also closely cooperate with Saudi Arabia’s business community to consolidate the foundation for cooperative efforts and achieve common development.
Rooted in Saudi Arabia and accelerating the development of Saudi Arabia, our Chinese enterprises will continue to contribute wisdom and strength to the implementation of Saudi Vision and the Belt and Road Initiative.
